Builing Healthy Relationships is a five-session Sexual Harassment and Bullying Prevention Curriculum. Each lesson is divided into 60 minutes. The structure of the program centers upon a student's ability to differentiate between sexual harassment and mutualrespect, utilize effective communication skills to prevent and resolve conflicts, and ultimately to recognize the components of a healthy relationship. While the topic of each lesson will be stated in different terms for the various grade levels, the principles remain essentiallythe same.

 

This curriculum pregram fits best during After-school Programs and/or Summer Programs because of its length, but it can also be incorporated into the regular classroom setting.

 

The curriculum is divided into K-2nd Grade and 3rd-5th Grade Components.

 

 

Girl Power! Elementary & Middle School Girls

 

Girl Power! is a nationally recognized curriculum program that empowers girls by giving them an opportunity to have an open environment to share and learn about themselves.

 

Girl Power! is a prevention program for pre-adolescent girls only. The curriculum addresses the significant correlation between sexual assault and drug and alcohol abuse. The conneThe curriculum addresses gender identity and gender strengths, self-concept, diversity, effective communication, healthy decision-making, positive problem-solving, relationship building, grud and alcohol prevention, and sexual assault prevention.

 

The curriculum program is divided into 12 sessions and each session is about 1.5 hours in length. Because of its highly interactive nature, girls become really involved in each session and learn many team-building skills.

 

This program is offered on a limited basis because of time constraints. Hope Harbor conducts many evaluations on the effectiveness of the program and has found impressive results among pregram participants.
