Three Kinds of Touches is a six-session classroom curriculum which teaches preschool children (ages 3, 4 & 5) about "Safe, Ouch and Uh, Oh Touches" and presonal boundaries.

 

The program includes the extremely popular storybook, the creative and multi-faceted curriculum, the satile flashcard game, and the entertaining educational video.

 

The program also includes a Parent Workshop that addresses the inportance of parental involvement in child abuse prevention efforts. Hope Harbor provides all materials and resources to implement the program. Each session is 30 minutes.

 

 

My Body Belongs to Me (Preschool - 3rd Grade)

 

My Body Belongs to Me is a 30 minute safety program designed to teach children about boundaries. Young children learn that their bodies are their own, how they can protect themselves against an unwelcome touch, and the

importance of telling a trusted adult if they've been touched in a way that makes them feel unsafe.

 

My Body Belongs to Me talks about touching as a safety curriculum. The program only requires that children understnad that private areas are the parts of the body covered by a bathing suit when swimming. The message that a child is never at fault if they've been touched in a way that makes them feel scared, uncomfortable or confused, is reinforced throughout the program.

 

All children participating in the program receive an original coloring book.

 

 

Telling is Smart (4th Grade - 6th Grade)

 

Telling is Smart is a 45 minute safety program that serves as a continuation of the consepts learned during My Body Belongs to Me. This program focuses on learning to identify and communicate personal boundaries to others, including peers. The definition of physical abuse and sexual abuse are also incorporated into the program, as well as the importance of telling a trusted adult if someone does not respect their personal boundaries. Children learn how to protect themselves from receiving physically or sexually abusive touches.

 

All children receive an original pencil with Hope Harbor's websit and the name of program.
