At the request of the victim, a Hope Harbor legal advocate will educate the victim about the legal system, accompany the victim to the trial and/or any legal meeting with law enforcement officials, attorneys, etc.

 

 

Community Education:

 

Programs are available for schools, churches, businesses, civic organizations, and others. Programs are appropriate for pre-school age and up. Topics include: body safety, self-esteem, sexual harassment, dating violence, rape awareness, risk reduction, internet safety, and recognizing child sexual abuse for parents and teachers.

 

 

Counseling:

 

With the help of counseling, a victim has the opportunity to become a survivor. Counseling sessions are strictly confidential and tailored to each individual. Family members and significant others are also invited to receive counseling in an effort to support the victim. Individual, family, and group counseling is available.

An on-call advocate quickly responds to a victim in a hospital/legal, providing important information and critical support during a medical examination. This service is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
